Katherine Peggy M. Underwood-Miya

Katherine Margaret (Peggy) Underwood Miya was born in Geddes, South Dakota, youngest of three daughters; her parents, Stephanus and Cornelia Geusebroek, were immigrants from the Netherlands. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 57 years, Lloyd Bradish Underwood and a sister, Lena Gardiner. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Tom Miya; a sister, Gertrude Vanderwerp; four children and spouses: Nancy (Dave) Morey, David (Marilyn) Underwood, Alan (Ann) Underwood and Susie (Jim) Johannes. She has 17 grandchildren: Lynn Weathers (Tony), Brad Underwood (Karen), Mark Underwood (Debbie), Kristin Bailey (Tim), Matt Underwood (Michelle), Nate Underwood (Donelle), Bill Underwood, Jennifer Thengvall (Mark), Laura Peterson (Steve), Katherine Henry (Michael), Angela Ullman (Brian), Sarah Watkins, John Underwood (Mandy), Virginia Underwood, Alexandra, Emily and Olivia Johannes and 31 great grandchildren. She deeply loved each one and generously gave time and attention in so many meaningful ways. She filled our home with love, wit, humor, hugs, smiles, music, games, books, puzzles and Coke products. She will be lovingly remembered in all of our hearts.
