He was born on August 6, 1949, in Jackson, MS, growing up throughout the world as an Army brat. He spent the first part of his life serving in the United States Army, serving 2 tours in Vietnam before retiring as a 1SG after 23 years active duty. He later worked as a mail carrier with the USPS out of Millard (NE). He was known above all for his open door policy – there was always room for guests at his table, his true enjoyment watching football or the history channel with his eyes closed, and above all, his love of his family.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy; their children Karen Rene (Jeff) and Everett Clark (Amy); grandchildren Jennifer Lennae, Morgan Nicole, Nicholas Leon, Emile Rae, Robert Payne, William Hogan, James Palmer, Edward Benjamin, Kellis (Gus) Lawrence, Logan B, and Rebekah (Rebel) Elisabeth; and siblings David Charles, Brenda Kay, Bettye Jane, and Vicki Lynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winner Park and Myrtle (Culberson); son James Edward Bostic; and sisters Annie Myrtle Bostic and Rita Jo Monjarez.
A celebration of life will be held on November 7, at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home (5701 Center St) at 2 PM, with a reception following.
