Laura Lee Ayers, 89, of Papillion, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. Born on November 27, 1936, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Laura lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, resilience, and deep devotion to her family.
Laura will be remembered for her warm heart, her strength, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and her presence created lasting memories for everyone fortunate enough to know her. Whether through quiet moments or shared laughter, she built a legacy rooted in connection and care.
She is lovingly survived by Craig Pike (William Clark), Melissa Wendland (Bill Wendland), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit and love.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, John Freeman; her mother, Evelyn Freeman; her sister, Donna Childs; and her nephew, Barry Childs.
A private service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, followed by a celebration of life at 4707 N. 172nd Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68116.
Laura’s life was a beautiful reminder of the importance of family, kindness, and cherishing the moments we share. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
