I have known Lois since the mid-1980's where we both belonged to a women's business group together, and never have I met a more gentle and loving soul. Lois never, ever forgot my birthday throughout the decades, even as I moved hither and yon away from Omaha; we always kept up with one another over the years, even if it was simply a long annual telephone chat at Christmas.

When I found out that Lois was in hospice this Fall, I dedicated the work of my nonprofit, Peaceful Ponies, exclusively to her. I take miniature horses to nursing homes and hospice centers in the Tulsa area, and I'd send up a quiet prayer to Lois when the little horse and I pulled up into any facilities parking lot. Devoting our visitations to Lois her last three months of life was my highest honor. And so it remains.

And now she honors me yet again with a post humus donation to Peaceful Ponies from Jean and the Story family. I shall endeavor every day to keep her kind and giving soul alive through our work. Bless you sweet Lois, you always made the world a brighter place simply by being in it.

To your loving and compassionate memory with the deepest of Gratitude, Carol

I worked with Lois in the mid to late 60s. She was a sweet person and always in a good mood. She made me laugh with her funny stories and experiences. She was a hard worker and a joy to be around.
