She graduated high school in 1949, and began working at Gold's Department store in Lincoln, NE. She met William Owen, and they decided to marry in 1951. They settled in Omaha for the next 69 years. Marion was a telephone inspector at the Western Electric plant for 20 years. Marion loved gardening and especially tending her tomato plants along with her flowers. After Bill's death in 2019, Marion moved to Maryland to be with family.
She is preceded in death by daughter Mary Christine, who passed away in 1956; and five of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her youngest brother, Lonnie Miller, of Lincoln, NE; her son Jeffrey Owen of Denver; daughter Jan (Owen) Heil and son-in-law Jim Heil of Ellicott City; grandchildren Rich (Vanessa), and Tina Heil; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 10:30 am with a memorial service to follow at 11 am on Monday, April 7, at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home (5701 Center St. Omaha, NE).
