Marj was born to Corrine (Johnson) and Harold “Bud” Morris in Omaha, Nebraska, on September 28, 1970.
Marjorie was an OPPD princess, having worked there for 26 years. She was a proud member of IBEW Local 1483 and served as its treasurer since 2016. Through OPPD, Marj spent many years volunteering with the Partnership 4 Kids mentoring program and received an award in recognition of her tireless dedication.
She also loved volunteering at the Timberlake Outreach Center because people in need could shop there completely free of charge. Whenever she had donations to give, she preferred taking them to Timberlake rather than to Goodwill because she believed that people in need should not have to pay for secondhand items.
Marj breathed kindness into everything she did. She would give her last dollar to someone in need -- but she would rob a bank if it meant saving an animal! She lovingly adopted her dog Belmont and her two cats, Pink and Floyd.
Marj loved to dance. Her love of music began while listening to her mother sing in the church choir. Live music was her jam, and she passed that passion on to her children. Marj was a huge fan of Eric Church and was especially proud of having seen him perform in concert 20 times.
Spending time with her family and pets was Marj’s greatest joy. She especially enjoyed attending what she affectionately called “sports ball games.” When she cheered for her team with her trademark taxi whistle, every head in the section would turn toward the source of that unmistakable clarion call.
Marj was fun and funny. She was loved and loving. She always put the needs of others before her own, and her kindness left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. The world is better for having had this one-of-a-kind woman in it.
She is survived by her husband, Chris; her children, Caden and Kelsey; her brothers, Bob Morris (Sharon), Rick Morris (Kim), and Joe Morris; and her sister, Linda Morris; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Nancy Perkins; and her brother, John Morris.
