Mores was born September 2, 1945 in Omaha, NE. He grew up on a farm in Ponca Hills with his father Walter, mother Rachel, and siblings. He spent time taking care of animals, doing chores, and playing with his siblings on the farm. You could often find him building a tree house or zip-line with his brother Jerald. He took pride in raising and showing his sheep. He often won Grand Champion awards showing his sheep at 4-H competitions.
Mores attended Tech High School in Omaha and graduated in 1963. Then from 1963 to 1965, he went to a 2 year college in Fullerton, CA before transferring to UNO. In 1967, he graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from UNO. In 1966, he began working for the Army Corps of Engineers; in 2006, he retired after 40 years of service.
He was married to his first wife, Lynn, from 1967 to 1974. Together they had 3 daughters: Deanna, Erika, and Angela.
In 1975, Mores married his current wife, Sandra, and together they shared 49 years of marriage. They had 1 daughter together, Beth Ann. He lived with his wife Sandra and daughters in Bennington, NE from 1975 to 2010. He attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Bennington. He then lived in Omaha, NE from 2010 to the present.
When he wasn’t working as a Civil Engineer, you would find him in his hay fields cutting, bailing hay, or working on his farm equipment. Aside from farming, he also enjoyed fixing up and reselling houses.
Mores was an amazing father, husband, and friend. He was a very kind, loving, compassionate, and soft spoken man. He would put the needs of others before his own. He was always there to listen with an open ear and kind advice. He was very funny and quick-witted. He liked to make his kids and grandkids laugh. He was family-oriented and would keep in touch with extended family through phone calls and visits. He always looked forward to attending the family reunions, even one in Norway. Mores and his wife Sandi loved to travel and have visited many states and countries.
Mores was truly a gift to this world and will be greatly missed.
