A compassionate caregiver at heart, Myra dedicated 35 years of her life to the well-being of children, working as a nurse at Children's Hospital. Following her retirement from nursing, she took her nursing skills on some mission trips to Venezuela and New Orleans. She loved serving kids through her church nursery. She was an avid reader, tended to her garden, and especially loved crocheting. She had a deep fondness for Snoopy and cardinals.
Myra is united in eternal rest with her beloved savior, Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Harris. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Patsy Ann Baker, Emily Baker Blacut, Benjamin Baker, and Glen Baker.
Her legacy of love lives on through her devoted sisters, Alice Baker Fleming and Nancy Baker Grandgennett. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children: Alison (Marshall) Edmonson, Douglas Lee (Christa) Harris, Daniel Keith (Marci) Harris, David Kevin (Megan) Harris, and Michelle Marie (Jonathan) Harris Harvie.
Her faith will live on through her fifteen beloved grandchildren: Ashlee, Nicole, Jeffrey, Eric, Kailee, Shelana, Mackennan, Natalie, Olivia, Rachel, Joshua, Rebecca, Deborah, Hannah, and Sarah, as well as many extended family members, colleagues, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106, on July 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106, on July 31, 2026, at 10:00 am.
Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard will take place on July 31, 2026.
