My heart goes out to Mrs. Peggy Hunter’s family.

Losing her is not only a tremendous loss to her immediate family, but also to the many lives she touched in the community and even those who encountered her only briefly.

I first met Mrs. Hunter on various occasions when I would accompany my parents to O.H.A. and at different church events. She had one of the warmest smiles, the most loving tone, and a presence that left you feeling genuinely cared for.

As I grew into adulthood, I had the privilege of meeting my sister-friend, Mrs. LaJoyce Banks, which allowed me to know Mrs. Hunter in a closer, more personal way. Through my friendship with LaJoyce, a deeper connection with her mother blossomed — one I could never have anticipated but will always cherish.

Mrs. Hunter supported me in my entrepreneurial ventures, lifted me up with kind words, offered sound advice, and made me feel valued and loved in every interaction. Her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering warmth has left a lasting imprint on my life  You will be sincerely missed.

Thank you for being a light in so many experiences to me.

My fondest memory was Ms Peggy sang a song at my church Prince of Peace Baptist Church and she sang the song Total Praise Omg. Every time I hear that song I automatically think of Ms Peggy. I worked with her and sometimes I would stop at the front desk and she had a unbelievable funny side to her. I hated to see her retire. She will truly be missed

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Ms. Peggy Hunter.  The Robinson Family has been her next-door neighbors for nearly 50 years, and we couldn't have asked for a nicer family to call neighbor.  

I can remember hearing Ms. Peggy's angelic voice as she would often sing while in the kitchen cooking with the window open.  I will always remember how sweet, loving, and compassionate she was toward us.  

It was indeed a blessing to have known and experienced the wonderful person she was.   We will miss her dearly. 

May God bless and comfort your hearts in the difficult days ahead.  If there is anything we can do for you, we are here.  You will always remain in our thoughts and prayers.

I meet Mrs. Peggy over 30 years ago when I became her  next door neighbor. It was a honor to know Mrs. Peggy. She was such a pleasure to live next door to I would talk to her when I had nobody else. She was like a mother to me and grandmother to my kids. Mrs. Peggy was there for me in my darkest moment I lost my kids father she lended a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on i am forever grateful. To the Hunter family I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve known the Hunter family my entire life. They have always been a giving family, and Peggy exemplified that. Her amazing singing voice was only exceeded by her sweet, humble spirit. She will be missed, but we have a reservoir of memories to tap into. If I need to think of her, all I need to do is play “Order My Steps”. To the family, thank you for sharing your loved one with us and may God comfort you in the days to come.

I would like to express my condolences and my Love to Hattie, Linda (Lynn) and LaJoyce and the family. I will always hold the sweet memories of my dear cousin Peggy Wayne-Hunter dear to my heart.
