Dick and Sue moved next door to my grandparents, the Monahan’s, in the 1970’s or before. 

Dick would always dote on his house and had relayed that he and Sue lived in the house as it was rebuilt after the tornado of May, 1975. 

In visits to my uncle, Bill Monahan who died six weeks after Dick, our now 21 year old daughter would enjoy the red swing he had hung from the tree in the front yard. 
 


To the Bobek family,

I'm so sorry to learn of the passing of Richard.  I've known him and Sue for most of my entire life.  My Parents valued him and Sue as dear friends, especially their almost every Friday night dinners out.  I remember lovingly how Richard (like my Dad), wouldn't go anywhere without a coupon!! 
RIP Richard and prayers to the Bobek family.  I thought I'd attach a picture taken from my Parents 50th Anniversary.  

To the Bobek Family,

My heartful thoughts are with you this week—I recall Sue’s dad with fondness when I used to come over in the late 70s, when Sue and I were students at Westside High School. He was in my mind a kind, stable presence, a loving dad. I recall he had a fantastic workshop. Sue mentioned a few of her words from the memorial: “As the years go by, I realize more and more the valuable things dad taught us kids. He prepared us to be one step ahead, to be tough and hard-working, but also caring. One word that always comes to mind is INTEGRITY”. I am glad Sue B and I are still friends after all these years and my love goes out to Susanne, Betsy, Jenny and the whole family.

My sympathy to the Bobek family.  My parents, Frank and Jean Alexander lived next door on Pinkney St many years ago. Had so much fun with you all. Still remember our mothers talking over the fence. Mom sends her sympathy also. Dad passed away in 2016.  From your pictures posted, looks like you have many wonderful memories.  You'll be in our prayers.
