Richard P. Schoettger, Sr. September 18, 1927 – July 25, 2014 Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Survived by wife of 64 years, Shirley; children, Mary Anne (Jim) Nicas of Houston, TX, Richard (Galina) Jr. of Singapore, Robert (Mary Kay) of Lincoln, NE and Sue (Martin) Barnhart of Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Richard was an elder and active member at Central Presbyterian Church. He was employed with Douglas County for 35 years, with the last years being Chief Administrative Officer to the County Board. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Louise Schoettger; 1 brother and 1 sister. Suggested memorials to Central Presbyterian Church or to Sisters by Heart, a group supporting children with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. VISITATION Tuesday, July 29 from 6-8pm and FUNERAL SERVICE Wednesday, July 30 at 10:30am with all services being held at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home.
