Richard is survived by his wife Connie, children Jeffrey and Gina Tomes, Jennifer and Gary Flowers and Mikala Tomes and Ryan Lam,
Richard was blessed with 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren), Sara and "Brian" Durham (Kail, Jonas and Akira) Chaeli McDonald and lan Hildebrand, Alex and Taryn Flowers Easton, Liam and Ravyn, Eric and Jen" Tomes Jagger and Axel Jared and Ally Tomes and Talia Tomes, Jen Holz. Richard is also survived by his sister Pat and Bob Hupp, sister-in-law Pat Tomes, brother John Tomes, brother-in-law Ken and Ellen Graber along with his two loving dogs Benny and Buffy.
Richard married his high school sweetheart, Connie on October 25, 1962. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last October 2024.
Richard worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 33 years and retired in 1996.
Tony was the love of my life, the father of my children, my friend, and my fishing partner. We enjoyed our annual fishing trips, going to dinner together and our family gatherings throughout the year. He was always there to support the family regardless of the circumstances.
He loved his animals. Especially the two we have now Buffy and Benny. We will miss him so much.
A memorial service for Richard will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
