Robert M. Pearson

Bob was born in Genoa, NE where his Great-Grandfather settled their family after immigrating to the United States from Sweden. When Bob was six years old, his father moved his family to Omaha for better work opportunities during WWII. The family quickly settled into the Sheely Town neighborhood, with Bob attending Windsor School through the 8th grade. Bob then studied the printing trade at Omaha Technical High School, graduating in 1954.

Bob soon met the love of his life Sandra (Sandy) Kaye Benck. They were married April 29, 1961. They were married for 65 wonderful years. Together they raised four children, Gary, Jim, Bob and Stacy. They remained in Omaha until 1976 when they moved their family to an acreage near Fort Calhoun, NE and lived there for 35 years. The acreage would serve for making memories for their entire extended family, with annual “Pearson Cookouts” including making homemade ice cream and taking all the kids on tractor, pickup, motorcycle and horse rides. Bob and Sandy’s house was the place to be!

As their kids grew up and went on their own, Bob and Sandy decided it was time to relocate back to town and spent the next 20 years residing in Omaha, NE. Since December 2025, Bob and Sandy have been in the care of their daughter, Stacy, in Phoenix, AZ.

Using the skills he learned at Tech High, Bob had a 20 year career in the printing trade. He fondly recalled spending his lunch breaks observing the revitalization of the Omaha Old Market as we know it today. He then served as the Sales Manager of American Family Products, proudly publishing the “Who’s Who of Nebraska” among other projects. Bob then embarked on his sales career focusing on serving the farming community. He sold Chief Grain Bins, followed by a successful career with Capital American Insurance, Co. While working for Capital American he traveled the State of Iowa for 13 years selling cancer insurance policies to farmers. Bob and Sandy would take several remarkable vacations during this time as Bob earned many incentives and rewards. He later worked for Dana College performing maintenance and ended his work tenure by selling Long Term Care Insurance Policies.

Bob enjoyed classic cars, being one of the four founding members of the Omaha Rebels Car Club. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and going to Nascar races with his beloved Sandy and grandchildren.

Bob was proud of his family and spent every chance he could with them. We were fortunate to come together recently to celebrate his very special 90th birthday.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sandy. Sons and daughters-in-law: Gary (Mari) Pearson of Perryville, AR; Robert (Bernice) Pearson of Blair, NE; his daughter Stacy Pearson of Phoenix, AZ and daughter-in-law Debbie Pearson of Peachtree City, GA. Eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Homer and Oneta Pearson, brother Jack Pearson, sister Josephine Hynes, son Jimmy Pearson and great-grandson Mason Wright.
