Sharon was born in Aurora, Nebraska on September 25, 1953 to Floyd and Josephine Nelson. She graduated from Aurora High School, received her BSBA from UNO, and an MBA from Creighton University. Sharon married Bill Fonda on April 10, 1981 and they had three children. Sara (Kyle) Johnson, Laura (Jeff) Granneman and Greg (Adrienne) Fonda. During their 39 years of marriage the family was expanded with six grandchildren, Kendall Johnson, Brett Johnson, Emma Granneman, Carter Johnson, Ryan Johnson, and Bobby Granneman.
Sharon would want to be remembered more than anything as a mom. She left the paid workforce shortly after her children were born and was very grateful that she could stay home to raise them. She loved her children with all she had and was deeply involved in their development and activities. Anyone who knew her would tell you she ran a tight ship and rightfully so, was very proud of her children. That devotion extended to her grandchildren and she worked very hard to help out in any way she could.
The outpouring of condolences is a reflection of the many friends and people Sharon’s life touched. We can’t express in words our appreciation for the support and all you have done for us.
In these unusual times we would ask that no flowers be sent. Because of the suddenness of losing Sharon there are many things we haven’t processed but at some point we will honor her memory to a local cause.
