Shela Rae Collins

September 2, 1962June 30, 2018

Mrs. Shela Rae (Stratton) Collins, born on September 2, 1962 in Casper, Wyoming, to the late Ethel Maria Stratton and the late Roger Fred Stratton, lost her short battle with pancreatic cancer at age 55 on June 30, 2018 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was raised on her family ranch, helping with and showing steers. Shela graduated from Casper College in 1989 with an Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology. She was a Lead Angio Technologist for 23 years before becoming a Clinical Education Specialist at Siemens Medical Solutions. She is survived by her husband Ricky Collins, of nearly 13 years; daughter, Megan Stratton; sons, Blaine Stratton and Trey Stratton; daughter-in-law, Nika Stratton; grandbabies, Emma, Madison, Jacob, Carter, Boston, and Beckett; brothers, Justin and Jason; sisters and brother-in-laws; nieces and a nephew; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many "adopted" children. Shela described herself as an "Awesome Wife, Mother, Sister" and the "Best Nana." She loved spending time with her husband fishing, attending sporting events, and being apart of Session 7 musical gigs. Shela was very proud of her children's accomplishments, whether in life, in the military, or as parents. She also loved bragging about, spoiling and spending time with her grandbabies.

My sympathy & love goes out to Shela and her family. I have known Shela for many years at Creighton. Awesome, fun, loving, caring, are just a few words to describe her. She always talked about her children and grandchildren and will be missed greatly. I only know that at least now she is not suffering and is at peace. God bless you all! Sincerely, Linda Wallis I am sorry that I can’t attend the service but will be with you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Even though we didn't get to spend a lot of time with Shela we will miss her. Her laughter and smile was contagious and made you laugh with her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Fond Memories

Giving, kind, lovely, caring, patient, smart, and gracious are the words that describe Shela R. Collins. With a smile I remember Thanksgiving at your house, chocolate upside down cake, your wedding, and family movie night. I will forever remember you with love and fond memories.

Shela, thee “Ambassador of Goodwill”!
You always looked for the good in all of us and helped bring out our best qualities. Thank you! I will miss the live conversations, but I will be singing with you when one of your jams comes on satellite radio!
