Shelly was a loving mother, sister, friend and most importantly to herself a grandmother; whose kindness, strength, and compassion for others touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering support of her family, and the constant joy she brought to those around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Rosellen Dueling, and spouse David Wahl. She is survived by her three beloved children, Michael Wahl (36), Matthew Wahl (33), and Austin Wahl (26); her brother, John Dueling (62); and her five cherished grandchildren Sophia (12), Bentley (10), Marshall (1), Sutton (6 mo), and Briggs (6 mo). She also leaves behind her sister in law Janet, children’s significant others Jessica, Melissa, and Alannah, extended family members and dear friends who will greatly miss her presence. Those listed above are all who she was extremely proud of and which brought immense happiness to her life.
Although Shelly loved HGTV, soup, jeeps, the beach, and the Huskers, she found extra joy in spending time with her family (specifically being a grandma), creating lasting memories, and sharing love and laughter with those she cared about most. Her legacy of love, generosity, resilience, and care with others will continue to live on through her family and all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her. A message of reassurance in the midst of heartbreak and grief comes from the passage of Isaiah.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" - Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
