Sheryl Lane

She is survived by her significant other, Tom Wurtele; her children, Jamie Lane, Joshua Lane, and Katie Meisinger (Ryan); her beloved grandchildren, Caden Lane, Colton Meisinger, and Maya Meisinger; her sister, Maxine Sheehan (Patrick); her brother, Chuck Yarbrough; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her son, Michael John Lane; her parents, Orville Mattingly and EvahJune “Tootie” Mattingly; and her brother, Ron Mattingly.

Above all, Sheryl was a devoted mother and Grandma/Mimi—roles that brought her the greatest joy in life. She was a deeply caring and nurturing person who loved taking care of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sheryl loved warm weather and traveling with her partner Tom to favorite destinations such as the ocean and the Smoky Mountains. Together, they enjoyed camping, visiting casinos, and dancing. She also had a passion for cooking, gardening, reading Danielle Steel novels, and spending cherished time with her grandchildren.

A visitation for Sheryl will be held on Thursday, August 7th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska, 68106. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
