Shirley Mae Scott

December 13, 1931September 8, 2020

Born December 13, 1931. Entered into Eternal rest on September 08, 2020. Preceded in death by parents Sherman and Isabelle Beldin, husband Robert J Scott, daughter Sharon K Scott. Survived by children: Jerry (Lynda) Teter, Tom (Renata) Teter, Linda (Robert) Benjamin, Gerald (Kathy) Scott, Sheila (Terry) Rushlau, Gaylan (Hanne) Scott, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in Glenwood, IA, Shirley would live in many different locations throughout her life before settling in Omaha, NE. The last of her siblings to enter her final rest, Shirley was a survivor of multiple cancer events. Shirley graduated from Platte Valley Academy and would work diligently to send her children to Christian schools. She worked as a parts packer at Genuine Auto Parts for NAPA for over 10 years. She then opened a home daycare which she ran from her home for over 17 years. Shirley had a great passion for working for the underprivileged. She helped in Community Service Centers around the Omaha area. In the last few years, she was involved with One Church One Child. Working with them, she made over 200 blankets for First Responders to give to children suffering from traumatic events. She loved sewing, puzzles, the beach/ocean, seashells, lighthouses, and flower arranging. She always needed to keep her hands busy. First thing each morning she did her personal devotions. After that…. the sewing machine! Shirley loved her children and her family more than anything…except her Lord. Rest well Momma…Just Be There! Shirley was such a sweet, kind lady. It is hard to believe that I will not see her again at church. She will missed so much! I will be praying for her whole family, for all that loved her, that they will be comforted!

Ms. Shirley, it is hard to believe you are resting until Jesus comes. We will miss your smiling face at church, but we will look forward to that great reunion day when we will be reunited and see our Saviour face to face. We will meet you under the tree of life. Know you are loved and missed until we see you again!

Shirley was a lovely lady. She always had a kind spirit and a smile on her face.
She will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and
May the Spirit of God be close to them all. Our hope comes from above and we
will see Shirley again soon.
