Teresa C. (Whiteing) Collins

Teresa C. (Whiteing) Collins, 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Nevada, Iowa. She was born on November 26, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska to Leonard Whiteing and Agnes (Kinsella) Whiteing, the youngest of nine children. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and Vail, Iowa, and later lived in Davenport, Donahue, and Denison, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by sisters Lillian Pepper, Alice Timperley, Virginia Whiteing, Marilyn Tyrakoski, and nephews Neal and Benjamin Truitt. She is survived by brothers Leonard Whiteing, Rev. Richard Whiteing, and Gerald Whiteing, sister Rose Truitt, children Andrew (Zhe), Matthew, and Emily Collins, treasured grandchildren Julia, Benjamin, and Anna Collins, and many nieces and nephews.

She worked in the healthcare field, first in dentistry and later at the American Red Cross. Always on the go, in her free time she enjoyed handicrafts, cooking, gardening, collecting, all manner of projects around the house, and good times with family and friends.

The family expresses its sincere appreciation to The Columbia Presbyterian Community of South Carolina, Story Medical Senior Care, and Suncrest Hospice for their care during her long illness. A memorial visitation for Teresa will be held Saturday, April 26th from 10-11:00AM at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, NE 68106 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM
