We are saddened to announce the passing of Virgil, a man remembered for his deeply kind and loving nature, which enriched the lives of everyone he encountered. His corny & quirky sense of humor always brought laughter to those around him. Virgil possessed a strong faith in God and his walk in faith shaped his life.
Virgil was the loving husband of his wife, Kathy, and a devoted father to his three children. He was the proud and adoring grandpa to five grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
Virgil's light-hearted & warm spirit, and generous heart will be dearly missed by his family and friends, who will forever cherish the positive impact he had on their lives.
He is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Kathy, as well as his children Naomi (Andrew) Bruttig, Seth (Nicole) Dirks, Rebeccah (Tray) Bradley, his grandkids Isabella, Trenton, & Tyson Dirks, and Barrett & Bennett Bradley, his siblings, Jerry (Sharon) Dirks, Brad (Marian) Dirks. Preceded in death by his father & mother, Art & Verna Dirks, and his sibling Geraldine (Dirks) Quick.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Nebraska Humane Society or Food Bank for the Heartland.
A visitation for Virgil will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7706 South 96th St, La Vista, NE 68128, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM.
