Kreun, Deacon Wesley G. March 17, 1956 - January 12, 2019 Survived by loving wife of 41 years, Renee, children; Bryan (Stacy), Stephanie (Chris Wilson), Kyle (Julie), and Matthew (Lindsey) and 10 adorable grandchildren; brother and sister, Vern and Vi (Jay). Preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Wes was born and raised in Edgerton, Minnesota. He married the love of his life June 1977. His career led him and his family to several different towns in the midwest before finally settling in Omaha as a telecommunication specialist.

Wes has impacted so many lives with his servant heart. He spent 30 years with the Boy Scouts of America, five of those years as a Scout Master where he had 45 Scouts attain the rank of Eagle Scout, including his three sons. He has been an integral part of the youth ministry at St. Stephen the Martyr for over 10 years helping the younger generation strengthen their faith. In addition, he has served as a Deacon for over eight years bringing 168 children to Christ, through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Words cannot express how much he enjoyed his calling as a Deacon.

While the spiritual void Wes has left in this world can never be filled, the faith he has instilled and strengthened in all who met him will continue on and bring his family great peace.

Dear Renee and family,
God teaches us that when you see a friend it is wise to smile, say something nice and give them a hug, for you never know if that just might be the last time you will see them again on this Earth. Each Sunday when Wes and I would see each other at church, there would always be a huge smile, a sincere greeting of joy and wonder how the week had gone, and of course, the HUGE BEAR HUG! His eyes would sparkle if we talked about you, Renee, or the kids or the grandkids.........he was filled with so much love for all of you! The memory of a dear man who cared so much about his faith and knowing GOD was in his heart every single minute, will give all of us the strength to walk forward anticipating the day when we will see Wes again waiting at the gates of Heaven, smiling, with a whole bunch of answers for us, and the BIGGEST BEAR HUG EVER!! May knowing you have a very special Angel in Heaven watching over you, Renee, bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead.

I don't get the paper anymore , so I would not have known otherwise. Just wanted you to know I' m thinking of you. I will say some prayers for all of you . Love and Peace Linda

I was fortunate to have Wes as my Scoutmaster while a member of Troop 331. He was a great leader and even better person. I’ll always appreciate his ability to connect the things we learned as scouts to deeper life lessons. He will be missed.

We frequently quote Scoutmaster Wes in our home “Use your resources!”. My boys were blessed to have Wes as a role model in their lives.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Wes in different areas of telephony via Centurylink for many years. It was always a pleasure to work with him. I enjoyed talking with him about work, life, family, and God. He will be missed. My sincere sympathy to the Kreun Family.
