
She was born October 8, 1931 in Mineville, New York the daughter of Sherman and Leona (Stevenson) Carson.
Allie graduated from Oneonta High School.
In 1951, Allie married James A. Christiance, Sr. They were married for 64 years. James predeceased her on December 27, 2014.
For over 35 years she worked at Key Bank as the Head Stenographer. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Key Bank.
Allie loved going to yard sales, watching the NY Yankees (she was Derek Jeter’s biggest fan), knitting afghans (she made afghans for all of her family, friends and anyone in need.), and she was a fantastic bread maker. Allie’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She had a generous heart and helped many families in need at Christmas time and would buy them presents to help make their Christmas a joyous one.
Allie was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church for over 50 years and in recent years she attended the St. James Episcopal Church.
Allie is survived by her two sons, James A. Christiance, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Oneonta and William Christiance and his wife, Karen of Oneonta; five grandchildren, Scott Cornwell, Christina O’Connor Karn, Jennifer Fuller Regg, Michelle Christiance and Kasey Christiance; 15 great grandchildren; brother, John and Mary Carson; sisters-in-law, Crystal Carson, Jean Warner and Colleen Gallusser; as well as several nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother and step father, Leona and Leonard VanHoesen; brothers, Sherman “Bill” Carson, Sr., Tom Carson, Sr., and Leonard Carson, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00AM in the Main Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Gary Bonebrake officiating. Burial will follow in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Oneonta Salvation Army Holiday Basket Fund, 25 River Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.
