Anthony D Cillis

Anthony D. Cillis, 91, of Oneonta passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital.
Tony was born in Bloomville, New York on March 20, 1920, the son of Theodore and Catherine (Muschio) Cillis.
For a period of 20 years, Tony was employed as a mechanic for the West End Body shop, retiring in 1985.
Tony was a former communicant of the Church of the Most Precious Blood in South Kortright and was a current member of St. Mary’s Church, Oneonta. He was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
Tony is survived by his sister, Angie Van Bramer, of Oneonta; his brother, Sam (Grace) Cillis of Chandler, Arizona; two nieces, Renee Van Bramer of Pearland, Texas and Jo Ann Corson of Chandler, Arizona; two nephews, Allen Lombardi of East Hanover, New Jersey and Paul Cillis of Gilbert, Arizona and several grandnieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Frances and Eleanor Cillis and Rose Lombardi; his brother, Vito Cillis; two nieces, Gloria Lombardi and Teresa Van Bramer; and a nephew, Thomas Lombardi.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta, at which time the family will be receiving guests.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at St. Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta, with the Rev. Joseph Benintende, officiating. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Tony’s name to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.
Tony’s family would like to thank the staff at the Hampshire House and Catskill Area Hospice for the loving care extended to him.

The Oblinsky family and Cillis family were friends, neighbors and belonged to the same church for many years. I was sorry to learn of Tony's passing. May you find comfort in the memories of special times shared.
