She was born on August 24, 1927 in Stamford, the daughter of John and Edna (Miller) Smith. She married Lewis J. Laskaris on September 6, 1953. He predeceased her on December 30, 2003.
Beatrice worked for the Oneonta City School District for 15 years as a bus driver. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. An avid Yankees fan, she also loved playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Beatrice is survived by her children, Andrea (Gordon) Smith of Monroe, CT, and Karen (William) Sullivan of Oneonta; her grandchildren, Eric Smith of Fairfield, CT, Brian (Megan) Smith of Shelton, CT, Kathleen Sullivan of Boise, ID, and Joseph Sullivan of McCall, ID; her great grandchildren, Emmelyn Grace and Stanley James of Shelton, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her siblings, Kenneth Smith, Edith Whispell, George Smith, Lewis Smith, Frances Kristofik, and Mary Weill.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 11am to 12 pm at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
