She was born July 29, 1930 in Oneonta the daughter of the late Carl Douglas and Mary Alice (Dye) Pearson.
Betty married Gerald Baker of July 29, 1947 at the Salvation Army, Oneonta. Gerald predeceased her on June 13, 2005.
Betty worked at MAMCO in Oneonta and then worked at SUNY Oneonta in food services until her retirement.
She was a cat and dog lover and enjoyed watching auto racing.
Betty is survived by her 6 children, Diana and James Paton, Albany, Gary and Donna Baker, Doug Baker, Gerald and Kathy Baker, Lynn and Dawn Baker all of Oneonta and Wendy Platt, Mt. Vision; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 6 great-great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Rosalie James; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edna Baker, Leona Baker, Phyllis Sutherlin, Major Robert and Ruth Baker, Linda Hart, Cecil M. and Regina Baker, Jr., Dean and Judy Baker and Christina and John Flynn; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Marilyn Baker; sons-in-law, Warren Platt and Bruce Morgan; grandson, William Platt; great grandson, Tyler Carr; brother: Ivan and Anna Pearson, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Emaline Birt, June Headley, Winfield James, Harvey Baker, Floyd Baker and Leo Sutherlin.
There will be no calling hours and graveside memorial services will be private.
