Betty V. Shaw

She was born May 5, 1927 in Oneonta the daughter of Louis W. and Bessie (Bolles) VorderMark.

Betty married Charles O. Shaw on November 24, 1951. Charles predeceased her on December 29, 1982.

For many years, Betty was a telephone operator for NY Telephone Company until her retirement in 1958.

Betty was the oldest member of the First United Presbyterian (Red Door) Church. She taught Sunday School was active in the church choir and served on various committees of the church. She was also a former volunteer at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital an avid bowler at the Oneonta Elks Club for many years on the Elks Monday night League for Ladies and was a past president of the Oneonta Woman’s Bowling Association.

A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
