Beverly G. Sperry

She was born February 6, 1947 in Cooperstown the daughter of the late Earl A. and Elizabeth M. (Oles) VanHorn.

For 24 years, Bev worked for the Oneonta City School District for the transportation contractors. After her retirement in May of 2005, she began working at Home Depot first as a cashier and then moved up to the vault and then back to a cashier where she enjoyed interacting with the customers.

But her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished the time spent with them.

Bev is survived by her two sons, Wayne Sperry and Ruth Snow and Steven Sperry and Erin Stevens; two grandchildren, Melissa Sperry and Corey Sullivan and Austin Sperry; two brothers, Robert and Lorrie VanHorn and Earl and Donna VanHorn; one niece and one nephew; and her beloved bird, Miku. She was predeceased by her loving companion, Frank Kiser.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 07, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Charlotte Valley Cemetery with Rev. Kathy Brumbaugh officiating.
