
Carolyn Jean Crain, (aka Carolyn Anderson),born a resident of Oneonta, NY on September 23, 1953, perished from natural causes on Monday, June 27, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Irvin B. Anderson, Optometrist of Lull and Irons and Jean E. (Sanctuary) Anderson.
She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Anderson. Her lifelong friend and companion, Michael Murphy also predeceased her.
She attended Oneonta Junior and Senior High School and was known for her study and interest in the art of music. As she shied away from her musical interest her friends attest to her being a gifted and talented pianist.
Carolyn enjoyed her co-workers and her job as a machinist of many years at Mamco (Mold-A-Matic) on River Street and constantly worked all shifts and hours of overtime to exceed in her tasks and performances while there.
At one time in her life she also extended herself by volunteering her time and helping at the neighborhood youth corps. As an intelligent conversationalist, she was well versed in all topics of thought and concerns.
Her friends and acquaintances expressed that she always had a kind word to say to everyone and was very considerate to all. That she would never let anyone down if they had any problems at all. She had a very special love for animals, especially for cats of which she had two, Binky and Butchy Boy.
She was found in her home that she and her companion, Michael Murphy were restoring and remodeling since 1995.
Carolyn leaves behind her friends of many years, Denise and Jackie Randall, Tommy Odell and Donald Murphy her brother-in-law.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00am in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta with the Reverend Stephen Fournier officiating.
