Born on March 19, 1979, in New York City, Ciaran was the beloved son of the late James "Jim Joe" and Rosaleen (McGill) Brady.
Ciaran was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his mother, Rosaleen Brady of Monroe, Connecticut; his brother, Gary Brady and wife, Emily, of Monroe, Connecticut; his sister, Ashley Brady of Brooklyn, NY; his cherished nephews, Charlie, John, and Will; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the New York City area and in Ireland, including County Monaghan, County Cavan, and Dublin; countless friends whom he considered family; and his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Max.
In addition to his father, Ciaran was predeceased by his uncle, Michael Brady; his uncle, Gerry O'Shea; and his grandparents.
Ciaran dedicated his professional career to the telecommunications industry, where he was respected for his hard work and dedication. Outside of work, he was an accomplished athlete and lifelong sports enthusiast. He was a former player with St. Barnabas Gaelic Football Club, played soccer for Oneonta High School, and remained active in the Oneonta community through numerous recreational volleyball, softball, and dart leagues.
Those who knew Ciaran will remember his generous heart and thoughtful nature. He never arrived anywhere empty-handed, often sharing the fruits of his garden with friends and neighbors, whether fresh tomatoes, rhubarb, flowers, or other homegrown vegetables. He treasured his Irish heritage and recently fulfilled a heartfelt wish by traveling to Ireland to surprise his aunt on her 80th birthday, a visit that brought him immense joy.
Ciaran found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with friends at Pondo, grilling and smoking meat to share with family and friends, tackling projects around the house, and relaxing outdoors with his faithful companion, Max, while listening to WZOZ.
He was an avid soccer fan who enjoyed supporting local matches at Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta, and he had a deep appreciation for local history, both in the Oneonta area and in the Irish communities where his family had deep roots.
Above all, Ciaran will be remembered for his gentle spirit, infectious smile, and remarkable thoughtfulness. He was always ready for a conversation, never forgot to check in on those he loved, and possessed an extraordinary memory for the details that mattered most. His kindness extended to everyone, especially animals, and he delighted in joining children in their fun, whether pushing them on a rope swing or lining up for a race at family gatherings. His generosity, compassion, and joyful presence enriched the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will be treasured forever.
