

He was born October 12, 1948 at home in Lebanon the son of the late Clyde Romain and Lena Beatrice (Riggall) Young.
David married Linda Steward on February 14, 1976 in Oxford.
For many years, David was a machine operator at Corning, Inc. until his retirement.
He had a passion for woodworking and would make lawn ornaments and sell them and he would also make wooden boxes for his grandchildren with their favorite character on them. He cherished the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and his beloved dog.
David is survived by his wife, Linda Young; twin daughters, Selena VanDeusen and Korina (Wally) Vega all of Oneonta; six grandchildren, Hope Vega, Stephanie (Travis) Miller, Jonathon, Tyler, Adrian and Ariel VanDeusen; one great grandson, Quinton Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Roger, Richard, James, Gerald, William, Ronald, Frenda and Paul.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta with the Rev. Stephen D. Fournier officiating. Masks will be required in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
