Donald H. McPhail

Donald was born on August 17th, 1937 in Niagara Falls, NY. He was the son of the late Howard and Edna McPhail.

Donald was a 1955 graduate of LaSalle High School and a 1959 graduate of Purdue University’s School of Pharmacy in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Donald and his brother Roger owned and operated McPhail’s Pharmacy on Main Street in Oneonta from 1966 to 1988. Donald was a member of the Oneonta Elks Club and the First Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and served on several church committees.

Donald was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Scharlene. He is survived by his children Matthew (Ellen) McPhail, Michael (Amy) McPhail, and Jennifer (Steven) McCormick. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren Emily, Katherine, & Connor McPhail, Helina, Logan, & Noah McPhail, and Ashley, Jacob, Luke & Owen McCormick. Also surviving is his sister Joyce Jones of Binghamton, along with many brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
