Donna Laura Lewis

She was born October 6, 1946 in Deposit, NY the daughter of the late Donald and Laura (Wilcox) Hoag.

Donna married Herbert Lewis on March 15, 1969.

She enjoyed painting, putting together jig-saw puzzles and knitting. She also loved listening to country music and attended many country music festivals in Cortland, NY. Donna was an outgoing person and loved to socialize with anyone and everyone. While in Otsego Manor, Donna became the queen of BINGO. She was always winning different prizes and when she had too many she would send them home with her grandchildren. Her greatest joys came from her family. She always loved getting together with family whether it was for a holiday or just because. One of her greatest joys in life was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She cherished the time that she spent with them.

Donna is survived by three children, Ann and David Barlow of Oneonta, Don Lewis of Owego and Art Lewis of Bainbridge; four grandchildren, Amber and Trevor Ruff of Endicott, Sabrina and Michael Miller of Oneonta, David Barlow III and fiancé, Kayla Seeley of Oneonta and Travis Barlow of Oneonta; three great grandchildren, David IV, Lexi and Jamie; one sister, Jean and Don Tweedie of Walton; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of Donna’s extended family at Otsego Manor.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with the Major James Smith officiating. Burial will held at a later date in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. Memorial donations in Donna’s memory may be made to either the Activities Fund at Otsego Manor, 128 Phoenix Mills Crossroad, Cooperstown, New York 13326 or to the American Cancer Society, Southern District Office, 57 Front Street, Binghamton, New York 13905.
