Ed was born December 12, 1938 in Oneonta.
On August 17, 1958, he married the love of his life, Jean Harkenreader. Together they celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage.
For 35 years, Ed worked for the NYS DOT in traffic control until his retirement in 1993.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ice fishing and trapping. If you couldn’t find him out doing one of those activities you could find him in the woods tooling around on his “wheeler”, “buggy” or snowmobile. Ed also enjoyed cooking and sewing (he did all the mending). He was a teacher and mentor to his family and will be sadly missed.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Oneonta American Legion, 279 Chestnut Street.
