He was born March 28, 1941, in Oneonta, the son of the late Walter T. and Mildred (Keator) Renwick.
Ed served his country from 1961 to 1965 in the Army National Guard. He married Betty Lennon on October 27, 1962, in the Academy Street Baptist Church. Ed and Betty enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage.
Ed started work in the heating oil business driving the delivery truck for Walt Renwick & Sons Fuel Company. He then went on to work for Agway driving the delivery truck and worked as a heating technician for 15 years until his retirement.
Ed was known by many people in the area. He loved working around the house in his spare time. He also enjoyed going to breakfast at local diners with a group of his friends. He was a member of the Pindars Corners Volunteer Fire Department. Ed also served as a local Scout Master and would take the take the troop to Boy Scout Camp. Ed was a devoted husband, father, and friend and will be deeply missed by those that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty of West Davenport; his children, Edward (Nancy) Renwick, Jr., Binghamton, Vickie (Gregg) Alapeck of Binghamton, and Christine Kusko of Binghamton; his grandsons, Ryan M. Renwick, Samuel L. Knapp, and Cameron Alapeck. Ed is also survived by his sister, Francine Renwick of Oneonta and brother, Walter (Barbara) Renwick, Oneonta.
He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Catherine Lennon.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street Oneonta, NY with the Rev. Stephen D. Fournier, officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 12 PM until the time of the service at which the family will be in attendance.
A Committal Services and burial with Military Honors will take place in the Hartwick Seminary Cemetery, State Hwy. 28, Cooperstown, NY.
