Edward A. Shipman age 26, or Eddie, as he was affectionately known by many, passed on at his home November 16, 2020.

Eddie is survived by his parents, Doreen (Rick) Moore of Oneonta NY, and Roger (Mercedes) Shipman of New Berlin NY, his grandparents Ed and Bev Watson; his siblings, Roger (Bobbi-Jo) Shipman, Andrea (Ken) Ferguson, Brittany (Brianne) Hart, Jared, Ashley, and Jessilyn (Devon) Moore, Ryan and Isabella Funk; and his beloved Chi-Chi and Josie; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Taken from us way too soon Eddie, despite many health problems from birth, was always able to brighten everyone’s mood with just his smile and awesome sense of humor.

He had many hobbies: cooking (one of his first loves, he was very creative), boxing, basketball and archery at The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club. He was also an avid baseball player and fan, his favorites being The Oneonta Tigers (The Oneonta Outlaws) and The Boston Red Sox. Eddie enjoyed playing golf and "hitting the range." He really enjoyed the time he spent working at The Oneonta Country Club.

Eddie LOVED Hunting, Fishing and ♫ LOVING EVERYDAY ♫, especially with his dad and his uncle Jeff.

He loved spending time with his friends and family laughing, singing, joking, playing pool or enjoying a good board game.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie’s name to The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club.

A Celebration of Eddies life will be held at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St, Oneonta, on Monday, November 23, 2020 from 3-5pm.

I didn't know Eddy very long, but it took no time to find out that he was a good person, with a good heart! I coached him in basketball at the Oneonta boys and girls club.... I remember the last game of the season, we had 5 players and the opposing team had double that amount! I remember Eddie made a bunch of left hand bank shots! He meant business! Eddie will be missed by many!

Eddy and I went to high school together. We didnt talk alot in school.his sister brittany and him uses to come over and hangout with me and my sister Virginia and all had good times laughing and talking and hanging out when I lived on Ann street off of river street. Eddy had a great sense of humor he was always happy no matter what happened. He was a very polite kid he could make anyone's day good because he was smiling all the time. Eddy will be truly missed and may he rest now and not have to go through anymore pain RIP bud

I just heard of Eddie's passing and I'm so sorry for your loss. I taught Eddie at Riverside back in the day. I can see his face now. I always had a great fondness for him and enjoyed having him around every day. He was a great member of the Riverside community. He did always have a smile, which is a great legacy.

I'll never forget the first time I met Eddie, my best friend Bri and her wife Brit invited me to camp in a back yard. Eddie helped us start the fire and along with having an amazing night. You'll always be in my phone as "Stitch" because I said so ! Rest easy and peacefully. Love you handsome. Fly high.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Eddie's family and friends. I will miss seeing Eddie around, he was always so polite and always had a smile for me. Eddie was one of my husband's first friends when we moved here from New Jersey, he always told me I picked a winner 🙂
