Evelyn L. Cross Knowles

She was born June 10, 1922 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Stanley A. and Florence Cross.

She was married to Donald Knowles on November 25, 1942 in Oneonta. Donald predeceased her on January 27, 1999.

She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church and involved in many of its ministries over the years. She was also a member of the Oneonta Garden Club and the D.A.R.

She was happiest when she was in her kitchen cooking and entertaining her many friends. She loved gardening, bird watching, antiques and reading. She received many awards for her gardening and flower arrangements.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Knowles of Chatham, N.Y.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Main Street Baptist Church, Oneonta with the Reverend Gary Bonebrake officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
