Helen R. Houck

Helen was born on December 12, 1916 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late William F and Mary(Shepard)Wenck. She married Linus J. Houck on November 3, 1938. He predeceased her on September 1, 2002.

She was a faithful communicant of St. James Episcopal Church in Oneonta. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who dedicated her life to her family.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Pat Leslie and her husband, Ken of Oneonta, Linda Kulp and her companion, Joe Ramsey of Goodyear Lake and Sherri Cerosaletti and her fiancé, David Escher of Oneonta.

She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Michael Jacobs, Kelly Jacobs Smith and Jolene Innis Billings; her great grandchildren Bradley, Cassie, Brett, Wesley, Henry and Sidney; her sister-in-law, Madeline Wenck, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Mary Dillelo, Elizabeth Ross, Loretta Orr, Anna Schenck, Lillian and Mildred Hoffman, Eddie Wenck, Joseph Hoffman, Paul, Gerald and Robert Wenck and sisters-in-law, Vivian Miller and Ruth Trinkino.

A Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the St. James Episcopal Church, 305 Main Street, Oneonta with Fr. Kenneth Hunter, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, weather permitting.

There will be no calling hours.
