

Helen was born on May 12, 1927, the first of two children of Paul V. & Helen(Fox) Sipos in South Kortright, New York.
She married Ivan M. Potter of Oneonta, New York on July 9th, 1950. Ivan predeceased her in January of 2002.
Helen was raised in South Kortright and later moved to their new family farm in Laurens on what is now County Route 11. While living and working on the farms, Helen was very active in dairy shows and enjoyed the New York State 4-H program. Helen work for a time at the Citizens Bank in Oneonta. She met Ivan in 1948 and they were later married at the Elm Park Methodist Church in Oneonta, in July 1950. Helen and Ivan lived many happy years together in Laurens and she was an avid deer hunter and served on the Laurens Emergency Squad together. They also enjoyed playing golf together. Helen and Ivan began spending their retirement winters in Yuma, Arizona in the mid 1990's, but made New York State their full time home again, in the fall of 2001.
Helen is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul & Donna Potter of Endwell, New York; David & Jeanette Potter of Glen Aubrey, New York; and one sister Betty Bauer, currently residing in Florida. She also has four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
At the request of Helen and the family, there will not be any calling hours. A graveside service and burial at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery will be held for both Helen and Ivan in the May 14, time frame. Any close friends and family are welcome to attend and will be notified as such.

The family would also like to thank all the people that may have visited Helen while she was at Bridgewater and ALL OF THE STAFF that have taken care of our mother in any way, over the many years that she was at the Bridgewater Center.
