

He was born September 26, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland the son of the late Norman and Dorothy (Collins) Medley.
On March 17, 2012, Jay married Joan King in Portlandville.
Jay loved to sing and play his guitar. He also enjoyed taking pictures. But most of all, Jay loved spending time with his family. He was good hearted and always tried to lend a helping hand.
Jay is survived by his wife, Joan Medley of Oneonta; three daughters, Erin Medley, Jami and Mark Balonis and Kendal and Timothy LoBuglio all of MD; step daughter, Melissia and Frank Koren, Jr. of Laurens; step son, Anthony and Jennifer Lewis of Mt. Vision; one grandson, Liam Balonis; four step grandchildren, Cadence and Gavin Koren and Brock and Kayla Lewis; two sisters, Ann and Deborah both of NC; his beloved dog, Jada who misses him dearly; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Mark.
A service to celebrate the Life of James C. Medley will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at 5:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta with the Reverend David Rockwell officiating. Memorial donations in Jay’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Southern District Office, 57 Front Street, Binghamton, New York 13905.
