With hearts filled with love and sorrow, we announce the passing of beloved mother and grandmother, Jane (Wayman) Bettman on July 13, 2026. Jane departed this world surrounded by family in the same way she lived life-strong, spirited, and with her notorious sense of humor intact.
Since defying death from nephrosis as a child, Jane’s fierce selflessness and dedication to family have defined the life she refused to surrender.
Born May 6, 1951, Jane was the fourth of seven children making family her greatest love and first priority from the beginning. From graduation at Unatego School in 1969 to operating her own cleaning business and owning/operating Pondo’s Restaurant, Jane earned a reputation for her honesty and resolve.
Despite her hard work, Jane’s greatest accolade was her unwavering love and dedication to family, remembered always as a loyal sister, compassionate mother, and doting grandmother. She will be remembered by family at Memorial Day picnics, Christmas Eve dinner, and whenever tacos are for dinner.
Jane is predeceased by loving husband of 33 years, Dan Bettman and brothers, Tim, Don, and Richard Wayman.
She is survived by sons, Mica (Debra) and Rodney Thorsland; granddaughters, Reece, Abigail, Amiley and Elara; great granddaughter, Theodora; brother, Skip Wayman (Jill); sisters, Barb Clark (Jon) and Tracy Mengelson (Eric); sisters-in-law, Doris, Sheryl and Lynne Wayman; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jane’s family and friends can take comfort in knowing that when they arrive in heaven, it will be just a little bit rowdier and the food will taste a little bit better thanks to Jane.
