Janice R. Chamberlain

She was born September 21, 1938 in Delhi the daughter of the late Bruce V. and Dorothy B. (Flummer) Haney.

For many years Janice was a residential aide for Broome Developmental Services at Homer Folks in Oneonta.

She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, making sure her home was spotless, decorating for all the holidays and most importantly spending time with her family.

Janice is survived by her beloved four legged companion, Tashi; children, Ike and Janella Carman, Dolly Carman and fiancé, David Cornell and Kurt and Ann Carman; daughter-in-law, Carol Carman; special friend, Dan Ross; grandchildren, Aimee Carman, Austin Carman, Nicholas Buell-Madison, Elisha Madison, Samuel Madison, Jessica Becker, Katherine Carman, Brittney Hotaling, David Carman, Shelby Beers, Keith Wayne Crawford, Cheyenne Tucker, Thomas Hunter, Desirae Hunter, Kyle Hunter and Brian Carman; and she was blessed with many great grandchildren whom of which she cherished; sister, Sharon and Klaus Sohns; sisters-in-law, Joyce Haney and Marjorie Hyde; brother-in-law, Shirley “Russ” Edick; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husbands, Douglas Austin and Harold Chamberlain; son, Richard Carman; and siblings, Richard Haney, Eileen Edick and Gerald Haney.

Janice’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone at Helio’s Care, Inc., and all the caregivers for the wonderful care and compassion that was given to her.

There will not be any services at this time.
