Jean Buzie

She was born on January 27, 1940 to Clarence and Agnes (All) Dibble in the Town of Oneonta. She graduated in 1958 from Oneonta High School.

On July 13, 1958, Jean married George H. Buzie, Jr. He predeceased her on November 25, 1965.

Jean did house cleaning for several ladies while her children were small so she could be home with them when they were home from school. But what Jean loved most, was caring for children. For 23 years she was a NYS Registered Daycare provider in her home.

Jean was also proud of the fact that she went back to school in 1980’s and graduated from Herkimer College in May 1995 with a degree in Business Management and Accounting taking one course at a time at night.

Jean is survived by her four daughters, Cheryl Edwards, Karen Buzie, Karyl Parliman and Carla (Luis) Martinez; one son, George Buzie, III; grandchildren, Matthew Davidson, Melissa Edwards, Robert Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Erin (Ramen) Singh, Jessica Lucenti, Sean Schorer, Janna Parliman, Nathan Hults, Elina Martinez, George Buzie, IV, Eugene Buzie and Kaitlyn Buzie; several great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Stanley and Rita Freeman.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Hartwick Cemetery, Hartwick with the Rev. Paul Messner officiating.
