Jerry Don Parkes

Jerry Don Glen Parkes, 31, of Sidney passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. Jerry was not able to help himself but was always willing to help others and he did so even in death by donating his organs to save someone else’s life.

He was born March 20, 1992 in Cooperstown the son of Jerry and Debra (Kleingardner) Parkes.

Jerry enjoyed arts and crafts, hunting and fishing. He loved all animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his father, Jerry and Alice Parkes, four brothers, Sean, Patrick, Ethan and Nathaniel Parkes; one sister, Lisa Parkes; girlfriend, Elizabeth and her children, Damien and Bryden and her grandson, Noah; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Debra Votee; brother, Dustin Parkes and sister, Ariel Parkes; maternal grandparents, Francis and Evelyn Kleingardner; paternal grandparents, Marion and Marie Parkes; and several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta with the Rev. Stephen D. Fournier officiating.
