Julian Allen Votee Sr.

He was born April 4, 1921 in Roxbury, New York the son of the late Frank S. and Grace (Hitchcock) Votee.

Julian married Laura Bell Ingram on July 16, 1944 in Stamford. Laura predeceased him on December 15, 2006.

Julian was a lifelong area resident. He was a hard worker who worked on many dairy farms in the surrounding area. Julian loved playing BINGO and spending time with his family. Since the passing of Laura in 2006, Julian has lived with his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Debbie who have been his caregivers.

Julian is survived by his eight children, Carolyn and Gary Mills of Florida, Doreen Davis of Oneonta, Genevieve and Patrick Darling, Oneonta, Donna and Marshall Dibble of Bloomville, Sharon and Allen Speenburg of Oneonta, Julian, Jr. and Debbie Votee of Georgia, Roger Votee and Pattie Clapper of West Oneonta and Ronald and Debbie Votee of Oneonta; 28 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; two sisters, Genevieve Shaver and Dawn Everett both of Kingston; one brother, Frank Votee of PA; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Diane Ryan.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta with the Reverend Mel Farmer Pastor of the River Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Meredith Square Cemetery, Meridale.
