

Mr. Huggins was born in Frostburg, Maryland, on December 4, 1925, the son of the late Cecil Ray Huggins and Marion King Chatfield Huggins.
During the Great Depression of 1930, the family moved to Andes where Kenneth graduated from Andes Central School in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard upon graduation in 1943 at the age of 17. He served on the U.S. Coast Guard Culter Campbell, as a Fire Control Man Third Class. He served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters earning his honorable discharge on April 9, 1946.
Returning to civilian life, Mr. Huggins studied accounting and worked at Siman-Shuster in Poughkeepsie, NY and Andes National Bank in Andes, NY.
He was predeceased by a brother, Dr. C. Ray Huggins, a sister, Marion H. Watson and a brother V. Russell Huggins.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Owen Huggins; a daughter, Pamela Huggins Laughlin (Patrick) of Norwich, a son, David Huggins of Riverside, R.I. and a daughter, Tess Huggins Alexander (Bruce) of Eureka, S.D.; one grandchild, Blaine Laughlin of Atlanta, GA; and sisters, Florence H. Cosselman and Mabel L. Huggins both of Scotia, NY.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta from 10:00am to 12:00pm at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Patricia A. Judd, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Andes Cemetery, Lower Main St and Coulter Brook Road, Andes, NY.
