She married David Young on February 14, 1976 in Oxford. He predeceased her on August 24, 2021.
Linda was one of eight children and shared a special bond with each of her siblings, brothers Kenny, Jimmy, Danny, Davie, and Terry, and sisters Patty and Kathy. She was especially close with her sister Patty, with whom she spoke every night.
She is also survived by her twin daughters, Korina Vega and Selena VanDeusen, both of Oneonta; her son-in-law Wally Vega; her cherished grandchildren Hope Vega, Stephanie Miller, Jonathon, Tyler, Adrain, and Ariel VanDeusen; and her great-grandson Quinton Miller.
Linda was a lifelong Yankees fan who could often be heard cheering “Go, go, go!” at the television as if the team could hear her from her living room. She adored her dog Rosco, lovingly calling him “Porker” or “Fatso,” and spoiled him every chance she got.
Known for her humor and quick wit, Linda never failed to make people laugh. When asked how she was doing, she’d quip, “With my hands!” a joke that never got old for Jimmy, Terry, or Anthony. She loved to share jokes she learned from her husband, often saying, “I don’t drink water because it rusts my pipes!”
Linda’s love for her family, her laughter, and her big heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was truly a blessing in the lives of everyone she touched. She will also be remembered for collecting nutcrackers for her Christmas display, amassing a collection of around 50.
A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta, New York.
“Never say goodbye, because we will see her again.”
