

Lloyd was a graduate of Franklin Literary Institute where he was active in sports. He helped to build the Pepaction Reservoir Dam and then with Lynn, owned and operated Robinson Bros. Excavating and Robinson Bros. Auction Services in Hamden and Walton, where he was the quiet one with a mischievous grin. He was also a wonderful carpenter, building his own home, helping to build his brothers home and his nephews sap house.
Lloyd was a 55 year member of the Franklin Fire Department and a District Fire Commissioner. He loved to work, dance, work, cruise in his convertible, work, vacation in Florida, work, chat over coffee at TA’s and work with his nephew, Dick.
Lloyd is survived by his loving companion and dance partner, Lorna Walters; daughters, Joanne (Richard) Engelhardt of Walton, Shelli (Odie) Baker of Lexington, KY; brothers, Bob (Dot) Robinson of Bath, Lynn (Franny) of Walton, Raymond of Pequoson, VA and Roger (Diane) of Middletown; sister, Helen Monell of Chenango Bridge, several nieces, nephews and Lorna’s sons, Todd and Terry and their families.
Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Richard, Josh and Gerald, sisters, Frances Doig and Barbara Higley.
Calling hours will be on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 4 to 7 pm at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, 425 Main Street, Franklin. A Celebration of Lloyd’s Life will be on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 12:30pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 307 Main Street, Franklin, with Rev. Janet Schwengber officiating. Burial will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
