You could practically tell time by Lucille Fink’s passing through the neighborhood with her quick steps on her way home from work at Triangle Shoes each day, no doubt planning the evening meal for her two boys. She was steady and lovely, always immaculately dressed and perfectly trim in a colorful skirt and blouse and low heels, and stylish dark hair. She never demanded respect from we little fellows who were about, but was accorded it without question. We didnt even know she had a first name. It was ALWAYS “Hello, Mrs Fink; hi, Mrs. Fink; Good afternoon, Mrs. Fink.” She was was universally admired.

Lucy was my grandmother’s best friend. I used to spend my Saturday afternoons sipping chocolate milkshakes at the Breese restaurant, with Aunt Lucy and my grandmother, Gertrude Hazel. She was such a beautiful woman! 💕

I remember Lucy in the Triangle Shoe Store where we all went to get our shoes. Of course she would greet us using our names as we grew older and always helped pick out our shoes. She was always at either the 8 a.m. Sunday morning mass and now the 5 p.m. mass and attended the Lenten fish dinners. She will surely be missed by her family and many others. Keep fond memories of her.
God Bless all of you.
