Marlene Joyce Scheer

She attended school in Norwich, NY graduating in 1955, and graduated college from Alfred University with a teaching degree majoring in English.

She married her high school sweetheart Albert W. Scheer Jr. in 1957 and were happily married nearly 70 years.

She was a devoted mother, and a supportive wife of a wrestling coach, who loved attending wrestling matches and any of her kids, and grandkids sporting events.

Marlene loved children and worked at local day cares and eventually opened her own in her home and provided care for many children, as well as caring for over 50 foster children throughout the years.

Marlene taught at Oneonta Christian School, where she also served on the Board of Directors, as well as teaching Sunday School at the church she attended, Living Water Faith Fellowship in Oneonta, where she had many close friends.

Marlene was predeceased by her sister Mardeth Young Cooley, her sons Todd Albert, and Jon Michael.

Her loving family who remains on earth, awaiting the time when they will be reunited with Marlene, include her loving husband Albert W. Scheer Jr., Oneonta; Jeffrey and Michele Scheer (Austin), Oneonta; Barbara Leech Bordner; Philip Leech; Robert Bordner, MD; (Albert and Jackie Kent Leech, WA) (Angeline Leech and Terry Wilson, son Todd Wilson, MD) (Brian Leech and Bernadette Tiller, VT) (Bianca and Nick Abbott, MD); Eric and Mary Scheer (Eric Scheer and fiancé, Megan Joseph, Oneonta) (Brandon Scheer, Oneonta).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
