

Martha was born on November 12, 1923 to Charles and Rose (Lorraine) Westcott in Herkimer. After losing her parents at an early age, she moved to Oneonta. There she met her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Harry W. Robbins. They married on November 7, 1942 and built a life together until his passing on August 19, 2001.
Martha was an avid baker and known for her beautiful wedding cakes and pies she made for bake sales. She loved playing bingo, decorating her home for Christmas and watching John Wayne movies. She was a member of the Oneonta Elks Club, N.Y. Telephone Pioneers and the Susquehanna Senior Citizens Group.
Martha is survived by her three daughters, Patricia (Russell) Archer, Sherry Asquith and Debra (Jack) Blanchard; grandchildren, Blaine Jennings, Scott (Elizabeth) Jennings, Austen (Lori) Asquith, Brian (Marcela) Asquith and Christopher (LeeAnn) McTighe; granddaughter-in-law, Pam Jennings; 10 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Westcott and Betty Robbins; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Martha was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 60 years; brother, Walter Westcott; brother-in-law Howard and Arthur Robbins; sister-in-law, Mildred Robbins; son-in-law, Austen Asquith; and granddaughter, Karen Bresee.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of AM/PM Homecare for their care and compassion. Martha considered them her “buddies” and over the years became like family. Also, a thank you to Helios Care for their care and support.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 with Rev. John Buddle officiating. Burial will be in the Spring in the West Oneonta Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Susquehanna SPCA, 5082-5088 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326 in loving memory of Martha H. Robbins.
